Talksharing #2: "Deal Vẫn Chill"

Talksharing #2: “Deals Vẫn Chill” Shifts Focus to Cultivating Skills and Responsible, Ethical Sales Mindsets

Have you ever thought sales was easy—just a few handshakes and contracts signed in the blink of an eye? If so, you may have only seen the spotlight, not the many rejections, the “seen but not replied” messages, or the moments of self-doubt:
“I understand the customer—why don’t they seem to understand me?”

Sales, when seen deeply enough, isn’t just about skills—it requires grit, patience, and an empathetic heart to "stay chill even after a deal falls through."

That’s why Gloton hosted Talksharing #2 – “Deals Vẫn Chill: Sales Through Skill or Connections?” on June 3rd.

This wasn’t a dry seminar. It was a warm, authentic space—not a classroom lecture, but an open-hearted sharing session among those who live (or have lived) the life of a salesperson.

1. Honest Reflections From Real-Life Experience

The session opened with a game called “Ủa chị?!”, where attendees “warmed up their sales hearts” by sharing their reactions to familiar rejection messages from customers.

Amid the laughter was a deep sense of empathy. Every salesperson has faced disappointment, and everyone needs a space to be heard, understood, and supported.

Another highlight was the Five Salesperson Archetypes Model, from Product Pusher to Industry Leader / Rainmaker. This wasn’t just theory—it was a mirror inviting self-reflection:
“Where am I on my own sales journey?”

2. Two Approaches – One Common Destination

Great salespeople may emerge from two different paths:
  • Skill-Based Selling: Built on data, strategic planning, deep product knowledge, and a step-by-step approach from need to conversion.
  • Relationship-Driven Selling: Based on human connection, trust, and experience—where emotional intelligence may matter more than metrics.
Neither approach is “right” or “wrong.” What matters is self-awareness—knowing your strengths, identifying gaps, and leveraging what you have to grow sustainably.

Skills don’t exclude relationships, and relationships can’t replace real skills. Both can lead to success—if you truly understand yourself and your customers.

3. From Talksharing to Long-Term Talent Development

Talksharing #2 was more than a sharing session—it was part of Gloton’s long-term Learning & Development (L&D) strategy.

At Gloton, every employee is encouraged to learn, broaden their perspective, and develop essential soft skills for both current roles and future growth.

Rather than traditional training sessions with fixed agendas, Gloton prioritizes experiential learning—through real-life scenarios, peer discussions, and insights from experienced professionals.

No grades, no “right answers”—just reflection and self-improvement.
We believe that investing in people is the most solid foundation for a sustainable business.

4. Why This Belongs in Our ESG Strategy

When ESG is mentioned (Environmental, Social, Governance), many focus on the E or G pillars. But for Gloton, “S” – Social is where sustainable strategies truly begin: by investing in people.

Talksharing #2 is a part of our Social ESG pillar, showing our commitment to building a humane, connected, and continually learning workplace community.

Instead of outdated corporate training models, we choose open, informal, experience-led sharing. This helps employees naturally develop skills, gain self-awareness, and build strong team bonds—in a more effective and lasting way.

5. Real Moments – Real Value

Talksharing #2 took place in the refreshing greenery of Silver Cloud Garden, but its impact lingers:

  • Nods of recognition.
  • Laughter steeped in experience after “missed-deal” stories.
  • Tough, essential questions openly unpacked: Is “connection” a shortcut—or just one part of a long game?

This wasn’t a session with definitive answers—but a moment for everyone to gain new clarity about their own journey in sales.

Conclusion

Gloton sincerely thanks our guests, partners, and colleagues who not only attended but generously shared their personal stories and perspectives.

We will continue our ESG Series—where every workshop, talksharing, or training is more than just an event; it's a seed planted for a more sustainable ecosystem, starting with the smallest of steps.
